Vaccination Policy as at August 2022

During the challenges of the COVID 19 Pandemic, Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place (MMIGP) has always been committed to following the government’s health advice.  This included in relation to vaccination mandates applicable workers, contractors, volunteers, and community who were engaging with us.  We developed and implemented policies to reflect these requirements.

With the recent shift towards personal responsibility in managing living with the COVID 19 Pandemic, and the lifting of the vaccine mandate MMIGP has decided to remove the requirements imposed by our vaccine policy.  As an organisation, we will continue to adhere to, support the proper health advice, and encourage all to take responsibility in managing COVID 19 by keeping up to date with your vaccines and boosters, practicing good hygiene, social distancing and where appropriate, the wearing of a mask in close contact settings.

MMIGP is proud that we faithfully upheld what was required of us during the early days of the pandemic, and keeping our community safe by following government guidelines, but we have chosen to self-determine our new way of life without the need to enforce vaccine mandates.  We will continue to engage with community safely and ask humbly for your help in assisting us to do this.

MMIGP did not take this decision lightly but considered the changing times of community, the need to continue to engage and live a somewhat normal life.  MMIGP will always promote and continue to advocate for good health through future vaccination clinics to ensure that our community receives every opportunity to protect itself.

We hope that you understand this shift in policy and encourage you to reach out If you have any concerns.

Please stay safe and well.
