The Men’s group is for Indigenous men, non-Indigenous male partners and their families within the EMR. This program has been developed to support Indigenous men within the EMR, strengthen their culturally identity and strengthen their families and community. The men gather together in an informal and relaxed environment to undertake social activities such as day trips, men’s cultural activities, or just to catch up, have a feed and have a yarn.
Focus groups based on culture, recreation and education are the core basis of engaging the men. MMIGP’s men’s group also builds linkages to other Indigenous men’s group around the region, state and nation. We envisage the men’s group can provide support and mentorship to other programs operating from MMIGP such as the Youth, Elders and Women’s group.
Our Men’s group meet weekly on Thursday between 4pm-6pm. Please see our calendar of events for more information.
